VEM sistemi was selected by Il Gruppo Fileni, a leader in the organic white meat market, to manage the digital transformation of its infrastructure by redesigning the corporate network to meet the company’s increasing demands.

With the support of partner VEM sistemi, Fileni’s IT team decided it was time to redesign the corporate network by replacing the LAN infrastructure to meet growing requirements for scalability, flexibility, security, and the ability to adapt to a fast-growing business. Fileni, which has been in the market for over 40 years, stands out as a complex organization that controls every stage of its supply chain—from feed sourcing to the final product on the shelf. This means managing a multifaceted network of companies, from agriculture to distribution. In this context, the Fileni IT team saw the need not only for a digital transformation strategy but also for technological simplification, to ease the complexity involved in managing such a heterogeneous group of companies from a central headquarters.

A Complete Project Lifecycle with VEM sistemi
The project was overseen by VEM sistemi at every stage: from the initial assessment—which made it possible to evaluate intervention methods, operational impacts, and work plans—to the replacement of network devices, and finally the renewal of the central data center.

The selected CISCO devices, designed for the new architecture, feature DNA-ready (Digital Network Architecture) technology, ensuring performance aligned with Fileni’s evolving business needs. Cisco DNA Center provides full visibility into users, devices, applications, and processes. The new Intuitive Network can establish and apply policies from access points to the cloud, across all network elements—users, devices, and applications—greatly increasing operational simplicity. This architecture is role-based rather than IP-based, meaning that access policies follow user identity consistently across the entire network, with specific policies assigned to each user role.

Proactive Monitoring and Enhanced Control
The network is closely monitored by VEM sistemi’s Network Operation Center, a dedicated support structure that proactively monitors, controls, and manages malfunctions and network issues, allowing Fileni’s IT team to focus on projects more closely tied to business productivity, governance, and digital evolution. This proactive control also ensures reliability across the entire supply chain, preventing operational downtimes that could result in significant economic losses.
